Rising Star or Relative Gold Digger?

Brazilian Pop Star Vaneli was seen on scene in Beverly Hills yesterday, doing a little and posing for the X17 video paparazzi. If you haven’t heard the hot new single “Ur Money” by international pop star Vaneli you live in a cave. This alluring beauty with pipes comparable to many established hit makers has landed in America to stake her claim. She brings with her a soft-spoken confidence and undeniable sparkle. Don’t let the seemingly shy petite one fool you, her debut single let’s al prospective suitors know; if you want a chance with her you better make it rain like a monsoon. But does this declaration of “I’m gonna get Ur Money” set upwardly mobile, independent young women back a few years?

Not since the boisterous rhymes of Lil Kim and Foxy Brown have we heard women brazenly speak about men “spending their chips”. These days our young women (i.e. Alicia Keyes, Beyonce) speak about empowerment, love and self worth. The ironic turn of the tables has come in recent years with the musically gifted men in the industry promising to “make it rain”, pay our bills and take care of us. This shift is what makes Vaneli’s “Ur Money” so tantalizing. Listen to it. She is empowered-she has her own money. She’s confident-she knows “he” wants her, most importantly, she’s brilliant-why spend her money when she can spend yours.

Contrary to the boasts of former lyrical gold diggers, Vaneli is not out to drain your bank account. Actually, she seems to be putting a twist on the empowerment movement. No coyness or game playing, Ms. Vaneli knows she’s hot and demands to be spoiled. Maybe if women in general should be more vocal about their wants. Truth be told most women would like a man to take care of them and that doesn’t mean the woman wouldn’t be on the grind making her own but security in a relationship is paramount. So would that make all women gold diggers? Check out X17 video website http://x17video.com/celebrity_video/vaneli/up_and_coming_pop_star_vaneli.php and have your say!

Are Celebrities Too Serious with the Media?

The stars came out in full force on Saturday night at celebrity hot spot, Villa in West Hollywood including Janet Jackson, actor Kevin Connolly, Canadian Pop Star Vaneli, were in attendance for the photographer friendly greeting at Villa Lounge.

Okay, we see it all the time, celebrities blocking their faces, fighting with camera men, angry about misquotes and lack of privacy. Are they justified in their fury? I guess being irked is relative. I mean who are we to say what should and shouldn’t irritate others. But for arguments sake, don’t the “stars” know beforehand what they are getting into? Haven’t we seen and read the interviews where they say “this is my dream…I wanted to be famous”. Well as the popular saying goes, fame costs. Part of that price is the Paparazzi, those wonderful camera wielding nuisances. Hey, everyone has to make a living; it’s not the media’s fault they happen to be on the other side of a camera celebs longed to be in front of.

Some of the more seasoned vets, J. Lo, Miley Cyrus, take paparazzi flashes with grace. Others, well…. So does hating the paparazzi come with time? If celebrities could change one aspect of their stardom would they choose to remove all of the annoying picture takers?

Many of the new comers to the industry seem to revel in the attention. Upcoming pop superstar Vaneli chimed in on the topic. The sexy siren who hails from Brazil was recently caught by photographers from X17 Video at celebrity hot spot, Villa Lounge in West Hollywood last weekend.

The soft spoken 21 year old, who currently has a hot new single titled “Ur Money”, was later asked how she felt about her debut facing the media firing squad. “I’m honored; if they were not paying any attention to me I’m doing something wrong. I’ve struggled to get here and if the media want to document my arrival and journey, thank you”.

Wow, will she still be this gracious after 5 years of flashing lights? We’ll just have to wait for her debut album “Hard To Believe”. Right now you can hear the hot single “Ur Money” at myspace.com/vanelid. Also vote at www.youtube.com/vaneli2

So let’s sound off. Fans, we mere mortals, do you feel paparazzi go too far? Or is it a justified expense for a flick of your favorite star?
